Agricultural, technical and operational expertise across our sugar beet activities.

Growing and processing sugar beet brings together many kinds of expertise. Our photographs document work across the factory site and the fields.

The hands-on work of preparing the land, planting, tending the crop through the season and bringing in the harvest. It is the first stage in the journey from beet to sugar.

Engineers, technicians and operators keep the factory running. They maintain the equipment, run the processing line and make sure every stage, from beet reception to crystallisation, works as it should.

The people who plan, coordinate and manage relationships. They connect the agricultural and processing sides of the business with growers, customers and partners.

A processing site is a working industrial environment, so safety comes first. Hard hats and high-visibility vests are standard on site, and everyone who walks through the factory gate shares responsibility for looking out for each other.
Sugar beet is a new crop for many people in the region, so learning is part of the job. Field teams and factory staff build their skills as they work, and we value the experience that comes from growing and processing the crop season after season.
Above all, it is a team effort. The beet only becomes sugar when the people in the field, the people in the factory and the people in the office pull in the same direction.
